black IPA
A dark beer with a fine, persistent head of a light hazelnut color. On the nose, dry hopping lends it freshness, with the resinous and citrusy notes of the hops blending with the aroma of roasted malt. On the palate, the bitterness is pronounced and well-balanced with the cocoa and caramel flavors provided by the malt. The head is dense, creamy, and clinging.
Unfiltered, unpasteurized, top-fermented, and refermented in the bottle.

pairings
Jolanda’s rich, bitter profile perfectly enhances the sweetness of grilled meat and blends harmoniously with the toasty character of the Black IPA. Aged cheeses are also an excellent choice. Cheddar, Gouda, or Parmigiano-Reggiano, with their intense and complex flavors, pair beautifully with the Black IPA. Pair these cheeses with a crisp cracker or rustic bread and let the beer enhance the earthy flavors and richness of the aged cheeses. Jolanda won’t disappoint with chocolate either. The balance of sweetness and toastiness in this beer pairs beautifully with dark chocolate for an unforgettable experience.
Why Jolanda?
Jolanda of Brienne was the sole heir of John of Brienne, King of Jerusalem and Latin Emperor of Constantinople. A Queen of Jerusalem of Syrian descent, she married Frederick II in 1225 as his second wife: their marriage secured the Swabian Emperor a prestigious honorary title and forged an important alliance in the East, in anticipation of future crusades. A noble and cultured woman, stories are told of the lavish ceremonies held on the occasion of their marriage, a symbol of liberation from the Holy Land.
