Matteo Minelli Named Entrepreneur of the Year – The award was presented at the Acacia Group’s 2nd Business Gala
The 2nd Business Gala was held at the Arvedi Group’s steelworks, an evening dedicated to reviewing the companies’ annual performance and their progress, examining the state of the regional economy, and honoring the companies that achieved growth and demonstrated exemplary performance in 2022.
The theme of the evening centered on the vision of the group led by CEO Francesco Pace: cooperation. The future is a puzzle made up of cooperation, with everyone contributing to a shared goal and adding their own piece to the puzzle.
The event generates a great deal of anticipation every year and stirs up a lot of excitement, in part because awards are presented to companies during the evening. Among these is the“Entrepreneur of the Year”award, which was presented to Matteo Minelli, CEO of the Universo Flea Group.
The award was presented to Minelli by Francesco Pace, the event’s organizer, and Donatella Tesei, president of the Umbria region.
“It’s been tough running a business in Umbria; doing so in Gualdo Tadino is almost a heroic undertaking! But it’s a great source of satisfaction for us: today we have about 200 employees, we’re approaching 1 billion in revenue, and we operate in 5 different European countries and 7 worldwide. But what we’re most proud of is the fact that our company is still family-run. As part of our initiatives, we’ve brought 10 young people back from Switzerland through a “brain gain” project to Italy, opening and offering them a new office in Milan. I don’t know if I deserve this award; given the times we’re living in, we should all feel like Entrepreneurs of the Year. Running a business today in 2022, after two years of COVID and with the ongoing energy supply crisis, is a tremendous feat on everyone’s part to remain in the business landscape. I want to share this award with all the entrepreneurs present in this room.” – these were the words spoken by Minelli during the award ceremony, who, with great humility, chose to dedicate the recognition to all the colleagues with whom he shared the evening.
