Summer means so many things: the end of school for the little ones, the start of the hot months, short-sleeved shirts, air conditioning or fans, trips to the beach or the pool, sun-kissed skin, and aperitifs. The question that naturally arises is: which types of craft beer are best suited for our summer evenings? We’ve decided to solve this problem for you with a brief but effective guide to our best summer craft beers.
Of course, there’s no such thing as a summer beer that’s perfect for everyone. Everyone has their own tastes, which they should certainly follow. Our aim is to recommend light, easy-drinking beers with a low alcohol content that, thanks to these characteristics, are particularly well-suited for the warmer months.
If there’s ever been a beer made specifically for summer, it’s our Blanche Bianca Lancia. It has a fresh, very fruity flavor with just a hint of bitterness and a cloudy straw-yellow color. With its low alcohol content of 5.0% ABV, it’s a delight for aperitifs and the perfect pairing for your favorite seafood dishes. Try it with sushi!
Our refreshing Blonde Ale is the perfect pairing for one of summer’s classic dishes: salads of every kind and for every taste—from the classic panzanella to the famous Caesar salad, to those packed with plant-based protein like legumes. The beer’s initial malty sweetness balances well with the ingredients we like to add, while the hop aroma complements the freshness of the lettuce. Costanza has a low alcohol content (5.2% ABV) and a smooth flavor with a well-balanced hint of bitterness.
If, on the other hand, you prefer canned beer, try our “Alba” Blonde Ale from the Big Bang Beer line.
Flea’s Golden Ale is a great summer refreshment, thanks to its moderate alcohol content (5.9% ABV), balanced bitterness, and dry finish. Not only that, but Federico II is perfect for the dishes we love to enjoy in the summer, especially grilled fish or grilled vegetables and meat. In short, the order of the day: barbecue!
The bold, international character of our APA is especially great when paired with foods like burgers, tacos, or kebabs. But thanks to its versatility and easy drinkability—thanks to its low alcohol content (4.9% ABV)—Adelaide can also be enjoyed on its own, allowing you to fully appreciate the fresh notes of the hops and its pleasant aroma.
It’s impossible not to mention our Weiss Margherita. Its light golden color is reminiscent of the barley from which it is made, while its fresh, clean aftertaste makes Margherita a beer that pairs well with a wide variety of dishes: its 5.2% ABV makes it easy to drink and perfect for enjoying alongside quick meals like salads, or appetizers featuring cured meats and aged cheeses for a complete and satisfying aperitif.
You know those people who say gluten-free beers are only for people with gluten allergies? Well, they’ve probably never tasted Isabella. Our beer, with a gluten content of less than 20 ppm (EU Reg. 828/2014), doesn’t taste any different from other beers—and if it weren’t for the label, you wouldn’t even notice. Your summer dishes will be enhanced by Isabella’s dry, fruity, bitter, and well-balanced flavor. Its 4.9% ABV makes it perfect for any time of day.
