Flea Beer continues to rack up awards. Bianca Lancia and Anais triumphed at the 2020 edition of the World Beer Awards , where they won the awards for Best Italian Wheat Beer and Best Italian Flavored Beer, respectively. Winning such important and prestigious titles once again highlights the exceptional quality of our products, made with organic ingredients from Umbria in a fully eco-sustainable brewery.
“We are absolutely thrilled. These awards prove that our decision to focus on the local area was the right one,” comments Matteo Minelli, founder of Birra Flea and CEO of Ecosuntek S.p.A. “Birra Flea is not just an agricultural product but a philosophy centered on rediscovering our roots and respecting nature. “Gualdo Tadino and Umbria in general are true hidden gems that we are introducing to the whole world.”
The World Beer Awards is a global competition that selects the best beers in all recognized styles. It honors the world’s best beers and promotes them to consumers and the trade worldwide. The competition is divided into two categories. The first is “Taste,” which is based on commonly recognized beer groupings defined by style and the brewing process
Each product is tasted to identify and select the winning style in each country. The jury consists of a specialized tasting panel. As for the second category, all design evaluations are conducted by a jury of leading international designers.
For both beers, this marks yet another accolade this year. At the Singapore Awards, Bianca Lancia had already won the gold medal and Anais a highly coveted silver. Bianca Lancia is a pale lager with a cloudy straw-yellow color, brewed with barley malt and wheat malt, featuring a fresh, slightly tart, very fruity, and mildly bitter taste, with a dense, creamy, and persistent head. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, top-fermented, and refermented in the bottle. Anais, on the other hand, is a pure malt amber beer, also 100% Umbrian and natural.
