On June 22 in Rome, at the Ministry, the awards ceremony for the 10th edition of the Cerevisia Award—the most prestigious national competition in the brewing industry—took place.
The 42 best craft beers were announced and awarded prizes, out ofthe 147 that made it to the final round.
The event marking the 10th anniversary of this prestigious competition, which highlights and promotes the production, trade, and consumption of high-quality Italian craft beers, took place in the Cavour Hall of the Ministry of Agricultural Policies, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry.
The award-winning beers scored at least 70 (out of 100) not only for the organoleptic qualities observed during tasting, but also passed the chemical and physical analysis (in fact, there were beers that scored at least 70 during tasting but did not pass the chemical and physical analysis).
TheCerevisia Award –which is sponsored by patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry – stands out from other industry initiatives due to its scientific rigor, which ensures the integrity of the selection process (product-specific evaluation of beers conducted at CERB and the issuance of analysis certificates to the breweries), the expertise of the National Tasting Jury, and, significantly, its institutional framework, which guarantees transparency and consistency in its procedures.
